Equine Scene: Hoof It! Centaur Av

For better or worse, I decided to treat myself after vacation. Hopefully, it will get all the major personal spending out of my system... or at least get me to focus more on building and then selling. Anyways, despite my boyfriend's popular belief, I have had this on my wish list for a while; being a fantasy shape-shifter, how could I not?

Say it with me: I'm a pret-tee poh-ney! XD Well, centuar-unicorn thing, anyways. I always have to twist things up a bit.

This is the Female - Grey version. It also comes in Dapple Grey, Appaloosa, Chestnut, Bay, and Black, as well as a male version. And yes, I plan on torturing my man. There is also a saddle out right now if you want to take a friend trail-blazing.

I've had a thing for horses since I was little; even today, I'm caught with glee when I see horses in RL, so I've been utterly giddy with my new avatar. In addition to the sculpted body, it comes with an avatar animator that you can mix with a ZHAO animator so your top half can be less awkward (just be sure to take out any walks and such). There are also hoofprint trail, clopping-sounds, dust cloud, and random sound options. The clopping sound,when on, actually changes when you run to a more appropriate gallop sound.

For the picky ponies out there, yes, there could be improvements. The most obvious is the tail, which only has a few strands of flexi. Having something more uniform would definitely be awesome; I think, in order to get that arched/drooping look, the creator might start off with the basic, non-flex prim and then add a flexi continuation or extension. This is what I've seen some of my favorite hair designers move toward. A more subtle detail that could use touch up are the 'socks' on the forefeet. Even with the added shading, the darker tones don't match up.

However, even with these areas of improvement, I found this purchase well worth it and definitely refreshing. This is definitely sculpties put to good use! If given the opportunity, I will model with it, especially if my focus is on a top or hair, as it looks wonderful from any angle (unlike some centaur avs I've seen, which look really weird form the front). For other SL'ers looking to be the talk of the farm, I highly recommend it!

The Medieval Mini: PixelDolls Matilin Dress {OoC}

I picked up a dress I thought noteworthy of review, so I'm doing one. Hopefully, I'll do more in the future.
This is the Matilin Dress in Brown from PixelDolls, picked up for 150L. (Well, I had a store card, but who's counting?) I love the diversity this adds to my wardrobe for such a small price: how many medieval or renissance-esque mini-dresses are really out there? Even the other dresses that were part of the 'pirate pixels' release were more modest length and didn't have a very wide opening to expose some well-toned wench thigh.In addition to brown, it also comes in green, violet and burgundy if you are looking for something with more bright tones. In any case, you can easily go from roleplaying to the club or other energy-pumped social event. Of course, this is provided you're roleplaying in a place like Realms of Aledar (some RP places are super strict and it's like being in a Catholic uniform school) and the next place isn't a long-skirt formal. Though the detailing in this outfit can help you get into some luxury, we can't provide a money-back guarantee. Minor details an' all.

I had to do some minor editing of the skirt, as my boo-tay is a bit on the bigger side. However, it was really small and easy, rather than taking an hour or so. I found that the bottom parts of the sleeves needed a little adjusting, too, but again, I'm shaped on the muscular end, so I might be the exception. If you're new to editing/adjusting, always be sure to copy your object parts before plunging forward. Same with the clothing pieces, although they typically don't need any changes.
Finally, for those that are curious, I'm wearing the Lassitude & Ennui - Signature sandals in black & gold, which are completely free. I love them because they are elegant and casual at once, providing an option for just about any outfit I have. While it's nice to be able to run around barefoot in a medieval/fantasy RP, sometimes a girl wants shoes! Especially with this mini: no shoes left my legs looking a little too bare, in my own view. These sandals also come with a silver accent and in white and brown straps.

Till the next post! <3
